octubre 22, 2009Ja està disponible la memòria del nostre torneig anual. Estem molt satisfets de la organització que hem fet i la diferència amb el torneig de l’any anterior és considerable. Tot i així encara esperem superar-nos de cara al proper any.

The final against les parisiens Courants d’R was high Touch. An exciting game won by the orange people (5-1) closed a frenetic afternoon of Touch in the city of Esplugues de Llobregat.

II TOUCH BARCELONA 2009 TOURNAMENT
The event will take place in the Sports Municipal Field El Molí.
Address: 64-100 Molí Street. Access through Els Cedres Street.
HOW TO GET TO THE FIELD
To get to the field by Public Transport, take first the Metro to the Station L3 Maria Cristina and then take there the TRAM. All lines (T1,T2,T3) drive to the field in about 10 minutes. Tram Station to leave is Ca N’ Oliveres ( Walk five minutes to access the field ). See map below.
Warning: METRO Station L5 Can Vidalet is disabled!!
Dinner at Freeway Restaurant
Freeway Restaurant is at Avenida Madrid 95 (Metro Station L5 Badal). At the moment it is impossible to access L5 from CanVidalet due to works. There’s a 30 minute walk from the field, or alternatively you may take the Tram back to L3 and then change to L5 to get to Badal.

Mainland Cup 2009

El torneig de la Mainland Cup de nacions europees es va cel.lebrar a Heilderberg, a Alemania els dies 25 i 26 de juliol d’enguany.
El torneig mixt s’estableix en Guernsey a la final contra Espanya per marge mínim. Fins i tot en les altres dues finals que era massa estret. Només en l’ampliació de l’equip masculí de Suïssa va ser capaç de derrotar l’holandès ràpid. En la dona es va asseure davant Escòcia per la gran senyoretes d’Alemanya. Aquí hi ha un intent d’hora va donar la decisió.
La Copa Continental, de manera que el rànquing nacional, podria ser després d’una execució global forta a Suïssa. ¡Felicitacions als nostres veïns!
A la categoria mixta, Guernsey es va endur la final contra Espanya, representada integrament per la Comunitat de València per un marge mínim (5-4). A la categoria femenina, Escòcia va derrotar l’amfitriona Alemania (1-0) i a la masculina, Suïssa va guanyar Holanda (3-2).

El nostre president també va participar a l’event, però com a àrbitre, cosa que li ha suposat una molt bona experiència, doncs va participar en l’arbitratge dels seus primers cinc partits internacionals, incloent-hi una de les semi-finals.

Catalonia new FIT Associate Member
agost 26, 2009The Board of the Federation of International Touch (FIT) has granted Associate Membership to the Associació Catalana de Touch (ACT), the Catalan Touch Association.
The ACT, led by its President, Mr. Olivier Guitart, introducer of Touch in Catalonia back in 2004, is an entity formed by members of the Catalan Federation of Rugby (FCR), the Rugby League Catalan Association (ACRL) and our club, Touch Barcelona-AETRC, the only team officially declared to play Touch in Catalonia at the moment.
The main objective of the ACT is to develop the sport of Touch in Catalonia and make it popular inside this soccer-mad country. Needless to say that the rest of the Nations and regions of the Spanish State will count on full ACT support.
Some months ago, Dennis Coffey, FIT Secretary General came to Barcelona, invited by the ACT, to meet different Sport and Political authorities.
One of the goals of that visit was to establish a collaboration between the FCR and the ACT, with FIT approval, to undertake the introduction of Touch into the Catalan Public Schools. The FCR, through its General Manager, Juan José Hernandez, expressed to Mr. Coffey their strong determination to use Touch as a vehicular sport to introduce those values and sportiveness of Rugby in the public schoolar system, given the simplicity and low risk of injuries Touch has.
The FCR and ACT will sign an agreement and will organize a FIT compliant presentation to show the sport to Rugby coaches and educators to start with, before the Level 1/Level 2 coach courses next year.
Moreover, Dennis Coffey met the President and Vice-President of the Plataforma Pro-Seleccions Esportives Catalanes (Platform Pro Catalan Sports National Teams), the Catalan Civil organization that promotes Catalan Sportive National Federations. Both expressed to Mr. Coffey their support to the ACT as the entity capable of managing and promoting the future Catalan Touch official competitions.
Finally, there was a short meeting in the Parliament of Catalonia with the MH President del Parlament, Ernest Benach i Pascual, where it was expressed the governmental support that this newborn project already has.
